The Goodman Project: Girls Orphanage

We have begun to build a wall around the approximately 20 acres of land in the Pacher area of La Plain. This land was donated by Joe and Susie Krabacher to Mercy And Sharing Foundation. We have also begun to build a storage area for all the building materials. We dug a small well on the property so that we will not have to truck in water to mix the cement. A flat bed truck was purchased to transport all construction materials. A girls orphanage consisting of two dormitories approximately 100 ft. x 50 ft. each will be the first buildings constructed. The construction plans for the building will be tall enough to eventually support a mezzanine level as we grow and require more floor area. The building will have at least 10 showers and toilets each. As budget permits, the buildings can eventually house up to 250 orphaned girls. Projected Cost of building: 100,000 USD FUNDED: 125,000 USD by EVEYLYN GOODMAN. The Girl’s Orphanage will be dedicated to her late husband.

Goodman Project: School

After completion of the girls’ orphanage, we are planning for the construction of a school for approximately 600 children. At this time we will need to acquire a school bus so that the boys from the Maison Des Ange orphanage can be transported as they are located 10-15 minutes apart by automobile. Plans for the building are approximately 8000 square feet.
Projected cost: 75,000 USD (currently unfunded)

Goodman Project: Handicapped Children's Orphanage

The next project in our overall plan for the land in Pacher will be a home constructed to accommodate our handicapped orphans. We hope to build the entire building handicap accessible and to have a physical therapy room. The plans for the building are 5,000 square feet, which would act as dorms for 100-125 handicapped children.

Projected Cost: 50,000 USD (currently unfunded)

Goodman Project: Trade School

The trade school will be for our teenaged orphans. We plan to teach the following to male and female students: sewing, basket weaving, tool and appliance repair, and cabinet making. The 2 buildings will be 75ft. x 40ft. each (total of 6,000 square feet.) We hope to hire trained Haitian adults to teach trades. The products the students make will be sold. All profit will be used to support Mercy and Sharing Foundation schools and orphanages.
Projected Cost: 30,000 USD (currently unfunded)
